CHPII acquired MAG in November 1993, with management investing as part of the acquisition. Based in Los Angeles, MAG supplies most major aircraft manufacturers and almost every domestic and international airline. MAG was sold in February 1998 to Zodiac S.A., a French aeronautical and marine equipment company in a transaction that was valued at $180 million. The sale provided CHPII investors a compound annual return of more than 52 percent, or approximately six times average invested equity.
